Ellie, this is the B&W twin of a  picture I posted earlier (See http://www.kay.shutterchance.com/photoblog/twist_£!;and£!;_turn_/  )   Yes, I posted it a long time ago!  But I didn't forget. :)

Yes, Kay, a different personality in B&W. Ellie will like this, I'm sure. It feels like a long story could be told if you just sat and listened...and watched.
That is an amazing shot, Kay. The contrast jumps out in BW.
What a tortured looking being - or rather tree!

Had a look at the colour version and I have to say I prefer it - I like the rich colours - this seems a little grey to me. Just a subjective opinion!

Kay - this is WONDERFUL! It is like a very old soul, twisted with the burdens it must carry. Stunning.

Wow! This is so dramatic.

If only the tree could talk. A fabulous shot
You did a great conversion Kay, but I prefer the colour version which is much softer with a beautiful light/shadow play. Just a question of taste I suppose!
I remember this tree. It makes a great b&w. I think I like this even more than the original

I think this is superb Kay, I really do. The contrasts are amazing, and the detail too, so sharp.

They're almost two completely different pictures with the other being softer and more comfortable, slightly mysterious.

I like them both, don't have a favourite.
Looks great in B&W.
I've never seen a tree like that. Beautiful picture, I saw many photos of you, it's really difficult for me to say my favourite. A très bientôt VAL smile
Kay: San Francisco and the rest of California's central coastline has a lot of these types of trees. (Cypress trees). Quite beautiful - each one is different. Thank you so much for your kind comments, Val!
