photoblog image fly away

fly away

I'm getting prepped for my short vacation in Hawaii next week.  So I'm taking a break from the aerial shots over the valley, and focusing on the coastal shots I took a couple of weeknds ago, when Gary and I went to Seaside, Oregon.

Tho the flora and fauna are not the same, I think these coastal shots are the perfect transition for the Hawaiian excursion.

The above shot was a lucky one.  I kept pressing the shutter, hoping for a good picture.

Have a wonderful vacation! I am already envious and you haven't even left yet smile
Kay: Hi Martin! Thanks for your comment. I'm pretty envious myself. Does that make sense? (I'm tired, and when I get tired, I get silly). smile
A lucky shot, indeed. Very beautiful capture with a strong suggestion of transition and movement. Have a great trip!
Kay: Thank you, Red Pen! You really intrepeted my blog post very well. ;-)

Beautiful processing choices. Have a wonderful time in Hawaii.
Kay: Thanks, Jewlya! Glad you like this one. I will have a great time in Hawaii, that I know! Oregon has been a little rainy, tho it's getting warmer. Looking forward to a little R&R on the beach and perhaps a boat ride or two. smile

Kay: Thanks, Vintage. This is one of those shots that doesn't come by often for me. Due to timing of camera operations! But I'm learning.

Enjoy your vacation. You are in the air a lot, much like the gull smile

Interesting to see your processing on a bird smile I like it.
Kay: Louis, Thanks very much! There's something nice about being air borne!
Glad you like this bird shot. Was thinking of you when I posted it, seeing that you know your birds and all. smile
Lots of talk of vacations. It is a very popular time here to go to southern locales like Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, etc. Asrtid is going on vacation too. I'm a bit jealous as I'll be having vacation in hospital.

This is a truly beautiful image with the sepia coloration and the bird seemingly looking right at you. Gorgeous!
Kay: Hi Mary,
Thank you for your comment. I hope you mend well and quickly. Take good care,
Kay
'Capture' is the right word for this one. Enjoy your break.
Kay: Thank you Ian. I intend to enjoy my break!
Oh Kay - that sounds like so much fun. I've actually never been to Seaside oregon for one and two... It's been too long since my last visit to Hawaii ( 8 years and counting)..

This shot is beautiful. I love the texture and close up feel to it...

I can't wait to see some great Hawaii shots! smile
Kay: I'll take pictures in Hawaii for you, Jen. Seaside is okay, but it's not the same as the central coast of California. wink

A wonderful close up shot Kay. You have certainly captured the sense of movement well.
Ingrid
Kay: Thank you so much, Ingrid! I hope you are having a good weekend!
Great shot. You definitely used the appropriate depth of field for the shot. Additionally, it isn't easy to get a good shot of birds flying that close up. The pictures tend to blur. Excellent work and I will be looking forward to seeing your Hawaiian pictures.

Be safe and have fun.
Dean
Kay: Thank you, Dean, for your great comment, a huge complement to me. It really starts my trip off right. smile
Have a great weekend,
Kay
