Great looking tree! Did spring suddenly break out or did you keep this for a rainy day?
Kay: Hi Martin,
I took this picture around Thanksgiving time (late Nov) when I was visiting family in the SF bay area. I meant to post it on line long before now. Thank you!

That certainly isn't England!
Kay: You're right, Chris! It's a little north of San Francisco. Thanks for visiting!

Beautiful! The "greens" in your photos always amaze me. I love the silhouette of the tree... makes the photo for me!
Kay: Thank you so much, Helen!
Very nice composition. I like the tree's shape and the lighting
Kay: Richard, thank you for your comment. It was a lucky shot. (I was taing pictures out of a window in the car my sister was driving!)

To me this is a first from you. You always shoot into the subject - like into the trees. Here it is over the subject (vineyard) catching a great skyline. You probably don't do what I described thinkingly but it is how I recognise styles in general.

With all that I don't mean anything negative - just commenting on something I have noticed. I like this one and the composition.
Kay: Louis, I really appreciate your comment, and you astute observation. You're right, I didn't think about it as I took the picture, and to be honest, I took the picture out of a window in the car my sister was driving. What I call a "drive by shooting". That's why you I didn't post this picture till now, added by the fact that there's part of a building in the right side of the shot. Thank you for your comment...always valued.
That is some tree!
Kay: Thank you, Bill!

The composition is fabulous, Kay. The sloping hills, the magic light, the wonderful tree to mother over everything. I love it.
Kay: Ginnie, I appreciate your wonderful words, as always! Thank you!

This is absolutely gorgeous, dear. How does it look in monochrome? Wish you moved the camera a bit to the left to leave the roof off the frame and move the tree off the center.

Kay: You are so nice as always! I have to be honest and tell you that I took the picture out of a window in the car my sister was driving. That's why I didn't post this picture till now...I too noticed that building, but posted this anyway. I'll post it in mono and crop that building out. Thanks for your good suggestion!

What an amazing tree.. love your lighting here Kay. Great light & shade
Kay: Thank you, Gale!
Precious! The landscapes with vineyards are one of my weaknesses. My file is full of photos of vineyards. If you pay attention, the two last photos that I have published are taken in one from the richest regions in these cultures in Catalonia. The Earth of the cave-champagne!
Kay: Thank you, Jose-Angel! You are so kind!
Nice composition.
Kay: Thank you!

This makes me very happy, Kay, given my current weather. smile Thank you.
Kay: I'm glad you like this picture, Ruth! A little sunshine in the middle of winter is so nice, isn't it? I took this picture in November, but waited to post it. Glad I did. Thank you!

amongst all the snow pics this really stands out...I'm assuming the was not near your latest shots mountain smile
Kay: Thanks, Liam. You are right about this being a few miles away. This area is just north of San Francisco...about 30 miles. I took the picture in November, when the weather was unbelievably warm.
