photoblog image park avenue in portland

park avenue in portland

Monday,  Meadow Blue (my Italian Greyhound) and I spent most of the day enjoying the nice weather in Portland.  At the end of our day trip, we found ourselves in a city park in downtown Portland. The park runs for several blocks and has lots of benches, flowers and statues.  It's a very peaceful place bordered by museums, coffee shops, Portland State University, and beautiful old churches.

This looks like an enchanted forest. One has to look closely to see that this is in the city. Nice one!
Kay: So glad you like this one, Martin!
Looks like a very nice place for a walk.
Kay: You are right, Red Pen! Thank you!
Nice One Kay!
Kay: Thank you, Nacha! This Park Ave. is much different than the one in NYC, I'm sure!
Lovely! Looks like a great place for a walk.
Kay: It is, Karen! Thank you so much.
le léger flou sur les arbres donne à la photo une dimention magnifique
Kay: Merci ! Les arbres et la lumière sont deux de mes favoris dans une photographie !
This has a lovely, soft "painterly" feel about it. There is a very similar scene about a block from my house, so for a moment, I thought your photo was taken there, and perhaps you were a photographer in Spokane!
Are you in Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine?
Kay: Hi Patrushka, I am in Portland Oregon...not very far from you, I think. smile
very nice
Kay: Thank you very much!
I like the way you always make the leaves look all feathery. It does look like the enchanted forest
Kay: Thank you very much for your kind comment ;-)

Your "style," Kay, takes an ordinary photo and makes it extraordinary! It's become your signature touch!
Kay: smile Aw, thanks Ginnie! It's what I like to do...somehow this style speaks to me. wink

Old Meadow Blue must have came back very empty from this experience. Imagine all the park benches that he had to mark as Kay's property tongue
BTW I didn't even know that there is such a thing as an Italian Greyhound.

Great picture
Kay: Yep, there is in fact such a thing as an Italian Greyhound. They are a true miniature of the standard greyhound. There are pictures of Meadow Blue (who is a female dog) in my archive. http://kay.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Meadow_Blue/
She stands about 13.5" tall.
Yet another wonderful photograph. It looks like a great place to unwind and find some peace from the pace of city life. (:o)
Kay: Hi Roz, thank you so much...it was nice and quiet when Meadow and I took a walk there on Labor Day.

What a fab place, the trees look almost like cotton wool all fluffy and soft. Nice cool calming shot Kay.
Kay: Thanks very much, Tracy! I love the light coming through the tree leaves. The light seems to be different in various regions of the U.S.

Kay: Thank you, Gail wink
To me the contrast light and dark areas adds a spooky feeling - I like it though smile
Kay: I know what you mean. You can go either way with this...but I'm glad you like it ;-)

It sounds like a lovely place to stroll or run with your pooch. And what a nice name he has.
Kay: Thank you, Ruth! It is a very nice place for some quiet time with a good book or a good walk. smile

Kay: I know what you mean. That sunlight captured me. It's very magical.
