Dedicated to my mom, whose birthday was today.  Mom passed away in 1994, but I still miss her terribly. Mom loved the color blue, and her favorite flower was the Iris; however I'm sure she would have loved this flower as well.

Beautiful Kay! How thoughtful! & very touching...I'm sure she is here in spirit and with you always.
Kay: Nacha, Thank you for both of your comments (you know what I'm talking about). You are right...today is very special for me, ...and my Mom will always be with me, as will my Dad (who also passed away). Girl, if I could, I would give you a great big hug for being so thoughtful and sensitive to the meaning of my post today. smile
All my best goes out to you!
I like the vivid colors. It would be hard not to like this!
Kay: Thank you so much, Martin!
Happy Birthday to mom.
Kay: Michael, I'm sure my Mom thanks you from where ever she is right now. And she's probably got that big smile on her face that brightened up the room. smile
Beautiful colour. I'm sure she is smiling down on you.
Kay: Aw, Thank you, Aussie! I really hope so!

A great close-up and a nice tribute. Make a pot of tea and go sit under her favourite tree - she will be there.
Kay: I sure will, Louis smile Thank you!

This is a wonderfully photographed tribute Kay. The DOF is spot on and the composition is great, as is the colour in the image. A very fitting and beautiful honour. Many regards, Neil.
Kay: Thank you, Neil. I am grateful to have a friend like you at SC!

Mom also loved morning glories, such as those climbing the wrought iron right outside the living room door on Hedges avenue, didn't she? Those were the color blue.
Kay: I remember, Bill. Mom loved all blue flowers, didn't she? Those morning glories were magnificent!

Yes, Bill - I remember those too. Those were very nice. Kay is quite the photographer - the picture looks 3D like the flower is jumping out at you!
Kay: Hi Deb, Thank you so much for commenting. All 3 of you responded to this tribute, and I know Mom and Dad would have loved it. Thank you for making this post so special.

Hi Kay,
Yes, Happy Birthday to Mom. She loved not only morning glories but
Irises in blue. She also loved pansies too. I think I love all her likes and inherit that from her. This is very pretty Kay. I love the blue which is also my favorite color. Great pic, Kay!
love and hugs,
Marcia

Why would you not still miss her Kay? She was your Mum. Lovely tribute with this photograph. Keep her safe in your heart, and she will always be with you. (:o)
Kay: Thank you for such a sweet comment, Roz. Mom was my best friend, and I know we will meet up again one day. smile For now, she is with me in my heart.
Without doubt, Kay, she will be enjoying this tribute that you do to him. The blue one, is the color of the sky! A gorgeous photo with a precious detail!

Lovely thoughts, Kay and very heart warming that you dedicated this to your mom..My dad passed away last september and I often feel him around so invite him along on my walks. I know the feeling...
Kay: Suzanne, thank you for your very kind and supportive words. You truly do understand how those you love are still around...
Blue like this is hard to find in flowers. Seems your mom liked precious and rare things. Of course you would be thinking of her on her birthday. It's so wonderful that your family could join you in this tribute.
Kay: Karen, thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness. Mom was a true gem to all of her children. She deserves a tribute every year smile And having my brother and sisters join in was wonderful, I agree!
