photoblog image drive along the Oregon coast

drive along the Oregon coast

We are held captive to our monitor screens.  My monitor at home shows this picture with the lighting set okay.  However, I notice that my monitor at my office shows this as a very dark picture in need of more brightness.  My apologies if this is also the case with you.

terrific shot, the colour looks fine on mine.
Great shot, Kay. I especially love the shadows along the cliff. Image doesn't seem to dark to me but not sure what you itended.. smile
Incredibly and stupendously beautiful. Great shot.
Many of your shots look like photos of models to me. This one is a particularly clear example. It is a really interesting effect and not all of it is due to being aerial shots. BTW, it doesn't look too dark on this calibrated monitor.

This has an HDR effect for me, Kay, which is something I actually like (I'm a fan!). It's different than the "usual" coastal snapshot and makes you stare at it for awhile. I like it! Not too dark for me.

It does look dark on both my screens. Whether it should be dark and whether it is too dark is another thing. I don't know what you see on your home pc and what you intend to show us. The part from the shoreline to the road is quite OK, but above that is getting a bit dark with all the trees. I can still see everything without too much trouble though.
All in all still an interesting fly-by picture.
beautiful scenery
It's a great shot Kay...very interesting.
Top right hand corner is a little dark, but not enough to spoil the picture. A nice image and works well in b/w with good range of tones.
I would be interested to hear how you took it - were you on a road opposite or in the air?

Kay: Hi Ingrid,
Thank you so much for your comment.
I was in an airplane piloted by a friend of mine. It was an amazing flight.
I have the same problem Kay - my monitor at home is fine but when I look at shots at work they seem really dark - strange!
Kay: Hi Bernie,
I'm thinking it's the settings or calibration on the monitor.
Thank you so much for your comments. I really enjoy reading them.
It looks a bit darker than most of your photos, but it gives the image a foreboding atmosphere that seems fitting.
That is a wonderful looking coast, Kay. I like the illuminated surf and the cars going along the road.
Nice shot Kay and the treatment suits the subject too. It's an impressive piece of coastline. David.
What an amazing coastline! Love the moody treatment. (:o)
Impressive lanscape and clever idea to manage in sepia tones ! Bravo Mon ami !
