Double Delight

I didn't have any idea that these roses were so popular.  I received this rose for my birthday a few years ago, and it smelled really good.
A colleague of mine told me this rose's name today.  For more information, visit this web site:

This rose is for all my friends here at Shutterchance!

Isn't nature wonderful to make those incredible colours?
I love the shot. The composition and the lighting. And the way you cave caught those colours.
Kay: Thank you very much, Michael smile I just love your comments!
Nice composition. What a lovely rose - I like the way the color changes from the inside out.
Kay: Oh, you are so kind! Thank you wink
Very crisp, well done
Kay: Thank you for the nice compliment, Dotun! The flower is for you and for all of the others here at Shutterchance that I've come to know over the past few months. smile Have a very happy birthday too!
Lovely shot. I don't think I have ever seen one with a yellow core and red leaves.
Kay: Thank you, Martin!

Everything about this shot, Kay, is magnificent! The crop, the framing, the black background (both of them!), the focus, the colors. What a Double Delight! I don't believe I've ever seen this variety. Someone had fun thinking it up (a Hybrid Tea, I see!).

Special thanks for your gift to us all today. smile

And yes, Happy Birthday to Dotun.
Kay: Aw, Ginnie, I love your very kind comments, and am so glad you like this picture smile Thank you wink

It's a beautiful rose Kay, the colour ranging from creamy centre to dark red on the outside is inspiring. Don't you wish though, sometimes, we had "smellavision" or whatever it might be called?

Your picture is lovely, I do like the very dark background and I wonder if it might look even better without the white frame?
Kay: LOL!! I agree, Ellie. I wish we could "smell" pictures on the Internet. (Of course, those that we want to smell). And yes, it would probably look better without the white frame. I'll have to try that one.
Thank you so much for this beautiful gift !
Kay: Hi Zeb, you are so welcome. The friendships I've made with other enthusiastic photographers at Shutterchance, are worth so much to me. I'm so glad I stumble upon the web site. And I'm very glad to have met you. wink
Simply beautiful
Kay: Ah, how kind you are, Anup! Thank you!

Very pleasant picture, I like the way how the patels melt into blackness of background.
