photoblog image punchbowl falls

punchbowl falls

Taken at the Punchbowl Falls in the Eagle Creek Recreation Area of Columbia Gorge. There was quite a crowd gathering for a swim. Hard to take a shot without a person in it, but of all the ones I took, this one turned out the best.

Nice composition, the woman just sets it off,and gives a sense of scale, well done Kay.
Kay: Thank you very much, Graham!
That is a super shot. I think the person adds to the shot. A sense of scale.
Kay: Michael, thank you. I hope you're doing well.

The water had a very feminine shape with arms extended. Very unusual. I like the person in the shot. She's glowing.
Kay: Thank you very much, Mary!
The figure helps because until i saw her this looked like quite a small waterfall
Kay: grin I see your point, Bill. Thank you!
A great sense of scale by including the young lady in the picture Kay.
Kay: Thank you very much, Brian.
Nicely done with the lady who gives the scale : Bravo !
Kay: Thank you so kindly, Zeb.

I'm with the others on the idea of having the person in it. But I can see how it might have been frustrating to get a shot of just the falls smile Either way, love the colors, it gives a warm, relaxing feel.
Kay: Thank you, Mia!
I've just been photographing waterfalls here in the English Lake District. None as sunny and warm-looking as this one though!
Kay: Thank you very much, Ian.
It works well with someone in, as it gives scale. Unusual choice of tone for this sort of pic but workssmile
Kay: Thank you, Nigel!

Nice work Kay!
Kay: Thank you, Loretta!
Beautiful waterfall. I love the splash and the reflections. The woman definitely adds a lot to the image, until I read your description I wouldn't have guessed it wasn't planned.
Kay: Hello Tosin. Thank you for your comment. Yes, it was not planned. I wasn't sure if she would mind her picture being taken...but I wasn't planning to wait until she moved. smile
